Based on the current construction going on in the Heritage District you may start to think our little community is only about food and drink. Even though we all are proud of the epicurian options available, I want to let you know there is way more going on down here than just food & drink consumption!
If you weren’t aware here are a few of the options available to you next time you come visit. We have an amazing state-of-the-art photo lab and gallery at Heritage Court called Art Intersection and local artist Sam Irving will open his show this weekend. After all that culinary indulgence you can stop in at Funktional Fitness to set up a calorie burning workout.
Another option burn those calories shopping at one of the two antique stores or a one of a kind birdhouse/ barnwood furniture store or the new pop up Christmas store located on the south end of the district. Not interested in shopping, then treat yourself to a tattoo, massage, spray tan, haircut or even get your teeth cleaned. These are all services available right here in the Heritage District!
If a cultural experience is what you are looking for don’t miss visiting the Gilbert Historical Museum. You are guaranteed to go away with a new respect for the pioneers of Gilbert. Also, The Hale Theater offers wonderful live stage theater performances every week. Every Saturday the park and ride lot is home to the Gilbert Farmers Market, voted one of the best in the valley. It runs from 8-12 every weekend. Additionally, the arts & crafts fair is happening every other Saturday at the water tower park.
So now that you are aware that there is a lot more to this district than just restaurants take some time to explore more local small business in the neighborhood. But before you do, may I suggest you start if off with a stop at Bergies for a refreshing beverage and a smile from one of our friendly baristas.
Enjoy your Heritage District experience and we look forward to seeing you soon.
